We want Hubbub to be a place where you can express your opinions through voting and commentary in a safe environment. Please respect everyone that uses this platform and do everything you can to tolerate the opinions of others without being inappropriate.
At Hubbub, we strive to maintain a community of people with diverse backgrounds and opinions on a variety of topics. You have the power to create impactful content and share your thoughts with others. However, we want everyone to be included in the conversation without fear and with strong voices and votes.
Please tolerate the views and opinions of others in the Hubbub community and respect the fact that everyone has a right to express themselves even if you don’t agree with them. Hubbub does not promote inappropriate behavior though and individuals who cross the line could be removed from the community along with their content.
Content and Our Community
These standards and guidelines have been created to protect the voice and vote of all members of the Hubbub community. By using Hubbub, you are agreeing to abide by our community policies and Terms of Use. We can and we will enforce these policies by removing content, suspending accounts, and imposing other restrictions on your account if you cross the line. But we will never remove your vote…. that is your given right! However, sometimes our voices can be dangerous, so please remember that we are all unique people who want to be in this community and express our opinions just like anyone else.
Below are our asks of each of you who wish to participate. Please keep this in the forefront of your mind when posting hubbubs and making your commentary in the community. It may seem like a big list “don’ts” from your parents, but please bear with us.
Everything is anonymous here, meaning we do not reveal your vote to anyone. Nor do we promote your true identity on your commentary. It’s up to you to decide if you want to share these things, and if you don’t, Hubbub keeps it completely private and secure.
Don’t threaten others with harm or harassment. Threats of serious harm are not allowed, and the content will be taken off the app. Serious harm may include threats of physical violence, financial harm, theft, and vandalism. We may work with law enforcement when we believe there’s a risk of physical harm or threat to public safety so, please be careful with how you treat and speak to people on our platform. Harassment through repeated, unwanted contact is tough for everyone and Hubbub will do what is possible to stop content publication from this kind of behavior.
Don’t promote self-harm. We understand that everyone faces challenges and that those challenges could take the form of self-injury through many mechanisms both physical, mental, and emotional. Please take care of yourself. Encouraging people to hurt themselves in any way is not allowed and we will remove your content and possibly report your behavior to the proper authorities should it be warranted.
Be supportive of this diverse community. Hubbub allows anyone to join our community; everyone is welcome to participate. You can be assured that your race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, political affiliation, disabilities, or diseases are not factors that influence Hubbub. We encourage everyone in this community to be respectful of all members despite how you may feel about any of these factors that make us such a wonderfully diverse world.
No nudity allowed. Please don’t offend us by posting content that shows genitals or sexual intercourse, be it reality via photos, video and audio files or digitally created content. You may post content related to birthing, breastfeeding, or other acts that are intended to describe the beauty of our natural world. If you use nudity to exploit children and other minors, you are not being cool. You will be banned from Hubbub for life if you participate in this kind of behavior. You know what is right and what is wrong; do the right thing!
Graphic violence is prohibited. Even though Hubbub is intended for more mature audiences, media content depicting over-the-top graphic violence will not be allowed. We support sharing content on important and newsworthy events, but some media content is just not appropriate, and we will evaluate these as reported. Posting media content for sadistic means or to promote violence is sick and will not be allowed on Hubbub.
No cheating please. Our platform is created to allow everyone to voice their opinions in an environment that is clean from artificial collection of things that will fraudulently strengthen your standing in the community, such as likes, shares and followers. Don’t offer compensation to others in exchange for these items either. We do everything we can to reduce these instances through our human and technology resources, but there will always be cheaters. Don’t be one of them!
Duplicate accounts don’t do us any good. We don’t like having our voting results skewed because of people creating multiple accounts for themselves, or accounts that impersonate another community member. Help us keep our data accurate and our member’s identities protected by not doing these things. It is very important to us that our voting methods are used properly so we can all be assured that what we see is as accurate a representation of our community’s intentions as possible.
Give us great data! We use demographic information to securely and privately understand how our voting data compares across all these factors; that way, everyone’s voice and vote are heard by those making decisions that impact our lives, be it businesses, media, public servants, or others. Even you individually can choose to understand how our voting results break down so give us all the best data you wish to securely share.
Advertisements are part of our culture. Hubbub allows advertisements on our platform. All advertisements are submitted for review by Hubbub staff before they are published to the Hubbub app, so our community policies are preserved even in the instance of ads.
Through your content, you may not offer sexual services, buy or sell firearms, alcohol, tobacco or non-medical/pharmaceutical drugs to others through the Hubbub platform. We will remove this content. If you post content that illegally promotes the trade, coordination of trade, donation, gift or ask for non-medical/pharmaceutical drugs, your content will be removed. We also prohibit content promoting the sale or exchange of live animals.
Hubbub does not allow posting of sexual content of minors. We also do not allow posting or threatening to post intimate images of others.
Finally, only post content that is yours. Do not use Hubbub as a vehicle to violate the intellectual property rights of others.
How to Manage Inappropriate Content
It’s going to happen; someone will post something inappropriate for the community or offensive to you individually. Should you come across anything like this, we have measures you can take to keep our community as strong as possible. And we will take measures too. If you clearly violate this community agreement three times, your account will be suspended.
Hubbub does not take position on the various organizations created to promote their specific causes. We also do not take position on any individuals causes. All are welcome to participate in our community unless these guidelines are violated. If you are offended by what you see, don’t look at it and report the content to us as soon as possible so we can take action if needed.
Reporting hubbubs, comments, and users: Through the mobile app, you can report inappropriate content for a hubbub or comment. See the Help section of the Hubbub app to understand the procedure for reporting content. We have a team of content managers that monitor these reports and evaluate and execute Hubbub’s policies with regard to the content. Determinations are made about each report, and we will remove content if it is warranted.
Blocking hubbubs, comments, and users: If the content is offensive to you personally, but does not violate Hubbub’s community guidelines, there are still things you can do. You may block a hubbub, comment, or user from within the mobile app. See the app’s Help section for guidance on how to perform these actions.
IP reporting: If your photos or videos were posted by someone else, you should inform the user about the situation and ask them to remove the content. If that doesn’t work, you can visit the U.S. Copyright Office website for more information on how to protect your content and trademarks.
